Emerald Coast Con Cosplay Contest Rules and Regulations 2016

We encourage all attendees to get creative and dress up. Please understand, just because someone is dressed attractively does not mean you are allowed to touch, make inappropriate comments, or do something that would make someone feel uncomfortable.

If you want to take a picture with someone – ask. If someone is gracious enough to let you, do not use it as an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. We will escort you out and you may not be able to attend ECC again.

We have ZERO tolerance for sexual harassment.

Although we have a dress code, ECC would never blame a victim for sexual harassment.

If you feel threatened or uncomfortable by someone at ECC, please let our staff know ASAP. We have safety zones specifically for keeping our friends comfortable and out of harms way.

Props – Weapons:

ECC will confiscate onsite any weapon or prop deemed dangerous. This includes any type of weapon made of metal, even if its peace bonded. Swords and weapons can be crafted out of plastic, foam, cardboard, or some other nonmetal material, and cannot be sharp or pointy to the effect of being able to impale or cut someone. Crafted guns must have orange tips. Absolutely no real fire arms or real weapons.

All props must conform to the Emerald Coast Con Weapons Policy, which is as follows: All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. It is upon the contestant to ensure their prop is inspected and approved prior to entering the convention arena! THERE WILL BE NO GUNS WHATSOEVER ALLOWED AT THIS CONVENTION.  If any prop is found without peace bonding, security will take control of the situation with a no tolerance policy. No functioning projectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times. No clowning around or showing off in the common areas. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area. We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can continue to allow peace-bonded weapons.

Waiver – Release:

By participating in this event, you are releasing all photo rights and understand that you agree to appear in media and streams affiliated with Emerald Coast Con productions.
