Joe Sullivan – Curator of The Gaming Museum

The Retro Game Hunter Gaming Museum – This exhibit will be located in the Vendor Room
This traveling exhibit showcases some of the rarest, strangest, and most unique items from gaming history.  We’re excited to be back at Emerald Coast Con, and while some of last year’s exhibits will be back, we’ve switched up most of it, so there will be plenty of new displays to see, to include a new feature showcasing one of the rarest and most notorious games ever cancelled, with less than a dozen known copies in existence.  The Retro Game Hunter team can’t wait to share it’s story, as well as the rest of our exhibits history, with you at ECC!
Panel descriptions:
The Retro Game Hunter Trivia Challenge with prizes!
Think you know your retro gaming history?  Can you spot the hidden gem, or name that game, or ID that tune?  Now’s your chance to prove you’re number one!  We’ll be giving out prizes, including a special grand prize package to the event’s trivia champ!  We’ll be taking up to 30 contestants on a first-come, first-served basis starting at the beginning of the panel, and crowning only the very best, like no one ever was, at the end- you won’t want to miss the Retro Game Hunter Trivia Challenge!
Exploring Japan: A Look at Japanese Gaming Rarities
We’re going to have on hand several extraordinarily rare pieces of Japanese gaming history, as we examine the some of the cultural differences between retro gaming culture between us and our neighbors across the Pacific.  We can’t wait to show you, and tell you about these highly sought after items, to include one of the rarest Chrono Trigger items ever produced (but never made available to the public), as we gain some retrospective.
